Drone Division featured in De Tijd

Drone Division made a contribution to the Belgian financial-economic newspaper under the heading “Innovation”.

With the title “Flying inspectors watch over infrastructure”, Stefaan Degryse (Drone Division), together with Tom Daniëls (Skyebase), provided insights into how drones are increasingly being used to monitor critical infrastructure.

Als je een klimploeg op een elektriciteitsmast stuurt, moet de hele hoogspanningslijn buiten dienst worden gesteld.

“Stefaan Degryse of Drone Division, a West-Flemish company that inspects bridges and pylons, among other things, also points out the economic costs of traditional interventions. If you send a climbing team up an electricity pylon, the entire high-voltage line has to be taken out of service. Depending on the line, that can cost hundreds of thousands of euros a day. Working with drones is also safer, avoiding accidents with associated insurance and economic losses.”
