Line of sight inspection Telecom
Line of sight (LOS) inspections are mainly carried out on radio links. Here, the “clear view” on a certain line from point A to B is tested, as there should be no structures, trees or other obstacles in this straight line.
Previously, this was inspected by climbing into the mast, onto the building or using an aerial platform. From there, a photo was taken facing the other side.
An intensive, time-consuming and risky inspection that was not always accurate.
Safe, fast and centimetre-precise with drones
Drone Division makes this inspection safer, faster and more accurate thanks to the use of drones. This technology makes it possible to achieve better results in a shorter time in all areas:
- safe: no climbing required
- more efficient: quick to set up, quicker inspection, fewer resources required, smooth data processing
- more accurate: measures the location of the drone at centimetre distance
- More environmentally friendly compared to aerial work platforms
Drones make the difference in all areas. Costs and time are reduced in hard-to-reach locations; setup and inspection under 10 minutes. We also work with centimetre accuracy thanks to our RTK drones on new construction projects where there is no mast yet. This ensures the correct positioning of the mast; both for permanent masts and temporary set-ups for events, emergencies, etc.
In addition, the data can easily be exported to sector-specific applications. Drone Division also has its own software to manage the various assets and locations in a well-organised manner.
Drone Division has a team of telecom experts and its own procedures to carry out an accurate LOS inspection.
